Sports Radio 850 WEEI will hold the 6th annual Whiney Awards with Glenn Ordway on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre, with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Citi Performing Arts Center Public Programming. Citi Performing Arts Center provides free art educational programming that reaches kids in many of the urban neighborhoods. They also provide several art programs at the Wang Theater and within several low-income communities.

Spaulding Jr., President and CEO. “The event continues to grow each year and The Wang Theatre is the perfect venue! The “Whiney’s” were introduced in 2003 to honor the top callers to WEEI’s popular Whiner Line - a hotline for listeners to whine, joke and vent their frustrations about the sports happenings of the day. Whines range from musical ditties to impersonations of local sports celebrities and media personalities.
